Throughout each lesson we will learn shop safety and different aspects of the woodshop.
Safety First learn about everything safety related to a shop environment
Tool Identity learn about each tool and their intended purpose
Wood Selection learn about wood movement and what type of wood to use in different applications
Joinery Techniques learn different styles of joinery for different styles of projects
Finishing techniques learn the difference in wiping, spraying and brushing and how to apply each one
We will use our creativity and our hands to create projects of different levels.
Design Process transform an idea into a design through research and rough sketch
Preparing Material learn to prepare the material to be used through batching and milling
Assembly Process learn how to join work pieces with the correct fasteners and glue
Finishing Process learn how to prepare a work piece for finishing
Students will have a chance to bond with other makers through collaboration and project wrap-ups.
Collaboration working together during different stages of the project will be encouraged
Project wrap-up at the end of each project, we will come together and talk about what we made and how we made it

1.5 hr weekly classes
$45 registration fee (per semester)
$20 per student per week or $340 per student per semester
(includes materials and basic gear)
